This is my 1986 GMC K2500. It's got a small block
350 backed by the turbo 400 with a shift kit. The 208
t-case splits the power to the GM Corp 10 out front
and the corporate 14 w/ a lock-right locker. It's rolling
on 35X12.50 Dunlop Mud Rovers with 16X10 Dick
Cepek DC-1 wheels. A Tuff Country 6" spring lift
front and rear and a 3" body lift make more than
enough room for the tires. A Mile Marker 12,000 LB
winch with a custom winch bumper ensures that I can
get out of the mud. Skyjacker dual front & single rear
hydro shocks, Rancho dual steering stabilizer, new
steering box, ORD steering box brace, ORD
greasable Front Upper Shackle Hanger (F.U.S.H.),
and MOOG tie rod and ball joints help keep the tires
glued to the pavement. The 350 still has the 750 cfm
Quadra-jet carb on top with a HUGE K&N filter to get
the air in there. HEI distrubutor, MSD cap & rotor,
Accel super coil, & 8.8mm wires get the spark to the
plugs. A Powermaster 140 amp alternator and dual
batteries provide the juice for the dual 14" fans, the
winch, and future lights. A second tranny cooler was
installed to help keep the tranny temp down. Dual
Flowmaster super 44's get rid of the exhaust. Royal
Purple is in the motor, tranny, t-case, and diff's.
This is Flee's 1985 GMC K2500. It has a crate 350
H.O. with vortec heads backed by a Turbo 400
trans with a B&M shift kit. The 27 Spline NP 208
splits the power to the GM Corp 10 up front w/ a
LOCK-RIGHT locker and a Corp 14 w/ a Powertrax
locker out back. The truck is rolling on 35X12.50
Hankook Dynapro M/T's on 16X12 Mickey Thompson
Classic II wheels. A 6" spring lift front is provided by
Superlift and rear Explorer ProComp w/
Offroaddesign greasable shackles and bushings in
the rear. A Performance Accessories 2" body lift also
was added. Engine aspiration is provided by a 6"
K&N filter and X-treme top w/ Tornado insert, a Holley
770 CFM Truck Avenger carb on top of a 1" spacer
and Edelbrock Air Gap intake. To get the spark where
it's needed, an ACCEL performance distributor w/
48,000 volt ACCEL super coil, ACCEL 4pin ignition
control module, 8mm wires and ACCEL plugs were
installed. A 200 amp powermaster alternator and dual
Optima red tops w/ a marine battery selector switch
keep the juice flowing to the T-MAXX 12,500 lb. winch
mounted in a Warn winch bumper. Hooker headers
and dual Super 40 flowmasters evacuate the
exhaust. A March under drive kit with crank, water
pump, alternator pulleys slow everything down to
grab some extra ponies, while the March bracket &
turnbuckle and Offroaddesign steering box brace and
high clearance HD engine crossmember hold it in
place. Keeping all that cool is achieved with Be Cool
INC dual 15" fans and aluminum radiator kit,
Edelbrock high flow water pump and Lund hood
scoops. Steering is in the form of a Superlift raised
steering arm, Skyjacker drop pitman arm and a
Rancho dual steering stabilizer. MOOG ball joints and
tie rods help control those 35's. Rough Country Nitro
shocks w/ a Skyjacker dual kit in front keep the tires
rolling smooth. On the custom Joe Giamartino
Flat-bed, you'll find a tool box full of trail tools and
dual 60" Hi-Lift jacks mounted to it
